New Product Reduces Blunt Trauma To the Head

Here is Camco’s latest addition to making RVing safer. These slide-out corner protectors are designed to stick to your slide-outs. The rubberized cushion won’t prevent you or the kids from “bonking” their heads, but it will cushion the blow. I’ve bumped into my slide-out corners numerous times and let me tell you that it doesn’t feel good! These protectors will definitely help, especially on the bedroom slide-out on 5th wheels. Look for them wherever Camco products are sold or order them online here: Camco Products

After a full forehead 'smack' on the bedroom slide (yes, I did see stars), we got a swim noodle! Cut it in half, slice it down the side...and put it on the front and back of the slide. Leave a couple of inches hang down...while you walk by, your brain "sees" it...if not, it's a great cushion!

Oh yes...be sure to remove prior to bringing in the slide!

I do the same as the above comment for my awning supports. Still hit them but it doesn't hurt as much. Wearing a ball cap often obscures them from my line of site.

For edges of the slide-out, we use insulation that is normally used for 1/2-inch copper [plumbing] pipe - it comes in 6-foot lengths, is easy to cut to length, and is already sliced length-wise for fitting on the narrow edge of the slide-out. Not as obtrusive as swim noodles, but just as effective. Home Depot, Lowes, or???
