What’s Going On Inside Your RV Refrigerator? Now You Can Know For Sure!
Camco’s digital refrigerator monitor makes life easier for RVers because it will tell you BEFORE your food spoils and give you a chance to do something about it.
It sounds off with an alarm and flashes a warning light when temperatures exceed high or low limits that you set. It has a nice digital display and sells for around $19 bucks. Check it out here: Camco Products

Wouldn't it be nice if manufacturers would give a complete description of what they want to sell? I could find no mention of what the power source is for this unit (battery, AC or 12 volt). Nor could I tell what the two temp displays are (room-refrigerator or refrigerator-freezer) and if refigerator-freezer why are there not 2 temp probes? Just a snivel because I get frustrated having to do the marketers work for them!!
I have had one of these refrigerator alarms for several years now. I used it in my original Dometic and when it died after over 10 years of faithful service I moved the alarm over to the new Dometic. It works great and really sets a person's mind at ease. I had an inside thermometer in the fridge and freezer both but that kind of defeats the purpose as you have to open the door to check the temperature. This lets you check it without opening the door at all. The alarm could be a little louder, my old ears take more noise to make a fast initial impression now, but it eventually and gently let me know there was a problem when there was. I'd like the company to make one that had two sensor lines and three readouts so you could keep track of the freezer, fridge and room temps all on one unit. But since they don't yet, I'd recommend getting two units so you can do that now with what's available. Nice product and not a bad price either.

I bought the Camco RV Fridge Sensor last week and really like it. To answer the posted questions; the power source are two AAA batteries - not included - and the two temperatures on the display are "outside" - meaning the ambient temperature in your RV and "inside" meaning the interior of your fridge where you place the sensor. The factory default settings (35 - 44 degrees) were too narrow for my fridge so I set mine slightly broader (32 - 46 degrees)and it works fine. Its nice to know how well your fridge is working and the Camco does a fine job for a reasonable price.
Why don't OEM's build these gauges into their products? This has always bothered me about electric water heaters. Even a simple idiot light would tell you which element did or did not have current flow.
